Last week had a few events worth going out for, between Lehi’s National Night Out and Grandparent’s Week, Dog Walk Wednesday, Imaginaria and the Friday outdoor movie at Thanksgiving Point. Hope everyone had a good weekend and has been doing well. If you made it to anything last week, I’d love to hear what you thought.

Looking ahead, Friday is a busy one with stargazing at Imaginaria and Lehi’s free Miracle movie night at Family Park. There’s also Dog Walk Wednesday, the Science of Magic at Thanksgiving Point, The Tempest at the library, the Kids Market and the Creator’s Collective End of Summer Bash. The Historical Marker Quest is still going too if you want something you can do whenever you have time.

Stargazing at Imaginaria – Head to Ashton Gardens Friday evening for a nighttime visit to Imaginaria with a stargazing theme. After-6:00 PM admission is $10, giving couples and families a less expensive way to explore the gardens and enjoy an astronomy-focused summer evening. Get tickets here.

Grassroots Shakespeare Presents The Tempest – Grassroots Shakespeare Company returns to the Lehi Library for a special family performance of The Tempest. The all-ages production gives kids and adults a chance to experience Shakespeare live in a casual library setting, with the company bringing its interactive approach to one of Shakespeare’s best-known plays.

Lec and Kim Holmes Named Lehi Heritage Day Honorees: Longtime Lehi volunteers Lec and Kim Holmes will be honored at Lehi Heritage Day on Aug. 29 for decades of community service. Lec has served with the Lehi Round-Up Rodeo Committee and spent decades helping local youth, while Kim serves on the rodeo committee and has been secretary of the Lehi Historical Society since 2016. They are among seven couples or individuals being recognized during this year’s celebration at the Lehi Civic Center.

Lenard and Julia Wing Honored for a Legacy of Service in Lehi: Lenard “Lenny” and Julia “Julie” Wing are one of seven couples being honored at Lehi Heritage Day on Aug. 29 for their years of service to the community. Lenny owned Wing Mortuary and served with the Lehi Chamber of Commerce and Round-Up events, while Julie contributed through local schools, swimming programs and other community service. The couple also shared a love of music, playing together in the Lehi Silver Band and passing that tradition on to their six children.

Hey neighbors! Here’s a three-stop Saturday plan that stays entirely in Lehi. Start by making your own chocolate, switch over to sushi or ramen for dinner, then head outside for an easy evening walk at Dry Creek Park.

Start at 4:00 PM with a hands-on chocolate workshop where you get a quick demonstration before making your own chocolate creations. The basic workshop runs about 45–60 minutes and starts at $18 per person for a half pound of chocolate for guests ages 13 and older. Younger kids ages 4–12 can be added to an adult’s workshop for $3, while children 3 and younger are free.

Saturday workshop times include 4:00, 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Reservations are required, and Just Add Chocolate recommends calling when requesting a time within the next 48 hours.

Once the chocolate is boxed up, switch from sweet to savory with dinner at Aoki Sushi Ramen & Grill. The local Japanese restaurant serves sushi, ramen and grilled dishes, giving you plenty of options depending on whether you want a full dinner or something lighter.

There’s no rush to get there immediately after the workshop. Aoki’s official website lists Saturday hours from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, leaving plenty of time for dinner before heading to the final stop.

Finish the night outside at Dry Creek Park once the afternoon heat has started to ease up. The 14-acre park has a walking path, playground, swings, two pavilions and a disc golf course, so you can take a relaxed walk after dinner or stick around and play a few holes if you still have some energy.

The park is open Saturday evening, making it an easy final stop without having to plan around another reservation or ticket time. General park use is free.

The City Council work session gives council members and city staff time to review upcoming issues, receive presentations, and discuss city business before formal action is taken at a regular meeting. Lehi Planning Commission Public Hearings – Thu, Aug. 13, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Lehi City Council Chambers, 131 N. 100 E., Lehi. The Planning Commission will hold public hearings on several land-use matters, including residential plats, proposed zoning changes, commercial development proposals, and amendments to city development code. Residents interested in growth, development, and land-use decisions in Lehi can attend and provide input on qualifying public-hearing items.
