How’s everyone doing with the back-to-school routine so far? Hopefully you found a little time to enjoy the last stretch of summer over the weekend. Now we’re heading into one of those weeks where the school calendar is picking up, but Lehi still has a few summer plans left before August is over.

Heritage Day is the big local event to circle for Saturday, with the parade, historical displays, food trucks, classic cars, and community honorees at the Civic Center. Earlier in the week, there’s Dog Walk Wednesday at Ashton Gardens, Skyridge volleyball Thursday night, and Itty Bitty Soccer for the younger kids. And if you’re due for a night out, Pride & Prejudice is playing nearby at The Ruth.

Pride & Prejudice at The Ruth – Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice takes the stage at The Ruth in a production adapted by Utah playwright Melissa Leilani Larson. Following Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy through their famously complicated romance, the show makes for a nearby theater night or date-night option during its extended run through early November. Community Coworking Day at Kiln Lehi – Solo entrepreneurs and independent professionals can trade the home office for a complimentary day at Kiln. Lehi Heritage Day 2026 – Celebrate Lehi’s history with an afternoon of community activities, including the Showcase Parade, recognition of this year’s Heritage Day honorees, historical displays, a marker quest, food trucks, and a classic car and bike show. The free city-sponsored celebration moves to the new Civic Center this year and gives residents a chance to learn more about the people and stories that shaped Lehi.

Itty Bitty Soccer at the Lehi Legacy Center – Kids ages 3–5 can learn basic soccer skills through games and activities designed to build coordination, social skills, and an introduction to the sport. Dog Walk Wednesday at Ashton Gardens – Dog owners can bring their leashed, well-behaved pups along for a walk through Ashton Gardens during Dog Walk Wednesday. It’s a chance to explore the gardens with a four-legged companion, something that isn’t normally permitted during many of Thanksgiving Point’s major garden events.

Lehi Community Invited to Support Families at Primary Children’s: The Lehi Free Press is collecting donations through Oct. 1 to support the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital’s Miller Family Campus in Lehi. Residents can contribute new blankets, travel-size toiletries, individually packaged snacks, disposable kitchen supplies and other requested essentials to help families staying close to children receiving hospital care. Donations can be dropped off at the Lehi Free Press office at 29 N. 100 W. in Lehi, Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All donated items must be new, and food must be commercially packaged and unexpired.

Coopers Honored for Decades of Service to Lehi Youth: Kim and Laurie Cooper are among the 2026 Lehi Heritage Day honorees, recognized for decades of service to local youth and families. Kim coached generations of Lehi youth in baseball, opened and ran the city’s first outdoor swimming pool in 1980, and later managed the Lehi Legacy Center pool for 10 years, while Laurie spent many years cleaning the outdoor pool at night, often without compensation, and later drove for Alpine School District for 15 years. The couple, who have spent all 52 years of their marriage living in Lehi, will be celebrated at Lehi Heritage Day on Aug. 29 from 2:30–6 p.m. at the Lehi Civic Center, 153 N. 100 East.

If you’re looking for a themed weekend outing, this is your sign to make Saturday a matcha crawl around Lehi. Start with a customizable drink downtown, take a lunch break with a matcha dessert, then finish back on Main Street with one last green-tea fix.

Start late morning at Sinners & Saints with a matcha you can customize instead of ordering the same latte you’ll find everywhere else. The current menu lets you add flavors such as strawberry, lavender, pistachio and raspberry, fruit purées including mango, peach and raspberry, or an extra scoop of matcha.

Saturday hours are 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM, so this is the stop you’ll want to visit first. Prices vary depending on the size and customizations, with most additional flavors and purées currently listed at $0.70 each.

After your first drink, head north to JINYA and give yourself a break from sipping matcha by turning the second stop into lunch. Grab ramen or a few small plates, then keep the theme going with one of the matcha options on the Lehi menu.

JINYA's Lehi location is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Saturdays, so there is plenty of room to linger over lunch. This stop does require a drive away from the two Main Street cafés, but it keeps the entire outing within Lehi and gives you a genuinely different matcha experience rather than three similar drinks.

Finish back on Main Street at Porch Coffee for one last matcha and an easy place to hang out after lunch. Since you started with a customizable matcha and had matcha dessert at JINYA, keep this order simple and use the final stop to decide which version of matcha you liked best.

Porch Coffee is open every Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so you do not have to rush over immediately after lunch. The café started as a mobile coffee truck before opening its brick-and-mortar Lehi location, and its official site describes the current shop as a community-focused gathering space.

Lehi Planning Commission Public Hearings – Thu, Aug. 27, 2026, beginning at 7:00 PM in the Lehi Civic Center Council Chambers, 131 N. 100 E., Lehi. The Planning Commission will hold public hearings on four land-use proposals, including the 235 Office Suites project on State Street, zoning for the Pasture Walk Annexation near 900 N. 1000 W., a proposed zone change at 1193 N. 2300 W., and an AT&T telecommunications antenna at Primary Children’s Hospital. Residents can attend and provide public comment on these development and zoning matters before the commission takes action or makes recommendations to the City Council.
