Graduation week is here around Lehi, so expect a lot more traffic around BYU and plenty of families out celebrating by Thursday afternoon. Pool season also starts this weekend… it feel like summer is arriving all at once.
Between the baby animals at Thanksgiving Point, library events, and swim tryouts starting up, there’s a lot happening for kids before Memorial Day weekend gets here.

Do You Hear the People Sing? Broadway in Concert – A free Broadway-themed concert is happening Tuesday night at the American Fork Library featuring live performances built around classic musical theater songs. Probably one of the better low-cost date-night options nearby this week if you want something indoors and relaxed.

Skyridge High Graduation– Skyridge High’s Class of 2026 will celebrate graduation Thursday morning in one of the largest gatherings happening in the Lehi area this week. Traffic around BYU will probably be busy most of the day with multiple Alpine District ceremonies happening back-to-back.

Lehi High Graduation – Lehi High seniors officially graduate Thursday afternoon at BYU, marking one of the biggest school-community events of the week for north Utah County families. Expect a packed Marriott Center and a lot of graduation celebrations around Lehi afterward.

Red Cross Lifeguard Training Pre-Course – Lehi’s summer hiring season is ramping up with lifeguard certification classes starting this week at the Legacy Center. Lehi Outdoor Pool Opens for Summer – Pool season officially starts Saturday in Lehi, which usually feels like the unofficial beginning of summer for a lot of local families. Expect opening weekend crowds, especially in the afternoon once school gets out for the year.

Family Night at the American Fork Library – A simple weeknight library outing with activities and space for families to hang out together without much planning involved. One of the easier nearby indoor options if you just want to get kids out of the house for an hour.

Baby Animal Festival – Baby goats, chicks, bunnies, and hands-on farm activities are back at Curiosity Farms this week, and honestly this is probably one of the easiest family outings around Lehi right now if you have younger kids. The scavenger hunts and animal-feeding areas usually keep families there longer than expected. Get tickets here.

Lehi Area Teachers Earn $10,000 STEM Innovation Awards: Two Lehi-area teachers were recently honored with Texas Instruments Foundation STEM Innovation Awards, each receiving $10,000 in recognition of their creativity and impact in STEM education. The awards include funding for classroom projects and personal recognition, helping support hands-on learning, new technology, and innovative student experiences in local schools.
Lehi 8-Year-Old Earns All-American Wrestling Honors: Eight-year-old Andi Cooper of Lehi is making waves in youth wrestling after earning All-American honors at the National Wrestling Tournament in Spokane, Washington. Shortly afterward, she was also named Utah Freestyle State Champion, adding to a growing list of accomplishments in the rapidly expanding world of girls wrestling. Coaches and family members praised her toughness, dedication, and competitive drive as she continues competing in tournaments across the country.

Dog Park Hangout

If your dog’s been bouncing off the walls lately, this is your sign to head to Willow Park for an easy stroll outside. The dog park has large fenced areas, open running space, and separate sections for different dog sizes, so it’s a solid spot for pups to burn energy while owners catch up and hang out for a while. It’s especially nice around sunset when the weather cools down and the whole area starts feeling calm and quiet again.
This one’s perfect for solo dog walks, families bringing the pup along, or casual meetups with friends. Grab a drink on the way, take a stroll near the Jordan River Trail afterward, and let the dogs handle the socializing for the day.
