How was last weekend? Polynesian Days brought food, performances, sports, and the fire-knife competition to Thanksgiving Point, while Big Jack’s World and the Spot the Hobbit hunt gave families more to check out. The Ronald McDonald Family Room donation drive also offered a simple way to help another local family.

There’s still plenty on the calendar today, including the Utah Kidney Walk and Labor Day Luau. Thanksgiving Point’s $5 Tuesday is tomorrow, fall reading and math clubs begin Wednesday, and the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival runs Thursday through Saturday. Adults also have Friday night’s Premier Prom, while Lehi teens can learn more about joining the Youth Council.

Lehi Heritage Day Draws Hundreds Despite Stormy Weather: Hundreds of residents and visitors celebrated Lehi’s history during Heritage Day, with organizers moving many activities into the new Civic Center after heavy rain and wind disrupted outdoor plans. Seventy-five volunteers helped keep the celebration running, which featured a historical marker quest, an old-time car show, raffle prizes and recognition of this year’s Lehi honorees. Organizers also reported strong participation from younger residents, helping introduce a new generation to the city’s history.

Lehi Encourages Residents to Prepare for Emergencies: In recognition of National Preparedness Month, Lehi City is encouraging households to learn about local risks, make a family communication plan and build an emergency supply kit with food, water, medicine and other essentials. Residents can also sign up for Lehi Connect to receive emergency notifications and other important city alerts by text, email or phone. Learn more and find preparedness resources at Ready.gov.

Spend a relaxed Saturday seeing how Lehi has grown from a pioneer community into part of Utah’s modern technology corridor. Begin downtown with local history, sample a longtime Lehi favorite nearby, then finish with chocolate and mountain views at Traverse Mountain.

Start at 11:00 AM inside Lehi’s historic Veterans Memorial Building. Explore exhibits devoted to Lehi history, pioneer life, fossils, rocks and minerals, Indigenous cultures, wildlife, and military veterans.

Allow about 60–90 minutes for the museum, which is open Saturdays from 11:00 AM–5:00 PM. Ask staff about the pioneer cabin and local-history collection, since these exhibits connect most directly to the itinerary’s theme.

Walk or drive a few blocks to this local bakery, founded in 1969 and known for its signature square doughnuts. Try the classic square glazed doughnut, a Bavarian-filled square, or the coconut crunch for an afternoon snack tied to Lehi’s longtime food traditions.

The bakery is open Saturdays from 6:30 AM–4:00 PM, so visit shortly after leaving the museum while the selection is still good. If you need a fuller meal, treat this as dessert after lunch at another downtown restaurant rather than expecting a complete lunch menu.

Drive about 10–15 minutes north to Traverse Mountain, a newer open-air commercial district overlooking the surrounding mountains and Utah Valley. Browse the center before ordering a caramel apple, fresh fudge, or handcrafted chocolates from the locally operated Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

Arrive around 6:30–7:00 PM to purchase your treats before the store’s 8:00 PM closing time. Take them outside and enjoy the fading light around the terraced shopping center, completing the transition from historic downtown Lehi to its newer northern corridor.

Lehi Planning Commission Meeting & Public Hearings – Thu, Sept. 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Lehi Civic Center Council Chambers, 131 N. 100 E., Lehi. The Planning Commission will hear public comments on five land-use matters, including a proposed wall exception for Garden Park Subdivision, an AT&T antenna at Primary Children’s Hospital, a glass-requirement exception for Alpine Bible Church, updates clarifying the city’s development-agreement process, and architectural exceptions for a storage building at the Outlets at Traverse Mountain.
